Paying it Forward
“Every time I needed help with something about my house, staff checked for me and told me how to do it, who to contact, and gave me a phone number,” Saw Khu Soe says. “So I try to help others.” Saw Khu Soe hopes to support others the way that Habitat Omaha staff supported him throughout his homeownership journey.

Building a Safe Home in Omaha
On Christmas day in 2005, Malual and Bina met at a gathering at Malual’s aunt’s house. As the party wound down, Malual asked for Bina’s phone number, and as the saying goes, the rest was history. One year later, they were married, setting out to build a life and family together.

New Roofs for Two Neighbors
When she started finding shingles in her yard, Ruth knew she needed to replace her roof. She had volunteered with Habitat Omaha through her church in the past, but she didn’t know about the Home Repair Program until she spoke with program manager Danyelle, who encouraged her to apply for an interest free loan to take care of replacing her roof.
Homeownership is Our Happiness
Aquedzox, Yesica and their three children, Randy, Xitlalic and Aurus will celebrate their homeowner anniversary this Thanksgiving. The holiday will mark two years since the family spent a chilly Thanksgiving day moving into their brand new Habitat Omaha house. A house that has given them happiness, relief and security.
