Preparing a Transfer on Death Deed
Building & Protecting Your Family’s Generational Wealth
At Habitat for Humanity of Omaha, we know that homeownership is the key to a family’s financial future. Yet, many homeowners are unaware their most valuable asset may not go to their intended loved ones because they haven’t properly prepared a Transfer on Death Deed.
That is why Habitat Omaha is partnering with local lawyers to help ensure homeowners have more control over the future of their home and the family benefits that can accrue from that asset.
Our volunteer attorneys will help prepare individual Transfer on Death Deeds that participants can sign while at the clinic. A valid form of identification is required to complete documents at the clinic.
We recommend registering prior to the clinic to ensure a faster meeting with your lawyer. However, we do accept walk-ins to our clinic. Walk-ins should expect to take a few extra minutes to meet with your lawyer while we gather the necessary information. After completing a registration below, someone from Habitat for Humanity’s Outreach team will contact you to reserve a timeslot for you and go over any questions you may have.
