Every day, we see the transformative power of someone owning their own home. In 1998, Tara was dreaming of becoming a homeowner. A divorced mother of three small children, she was renting and working full-time, but still having a difficult time making ends meet. In 2002, she took a chance on herself and applied to Habitat Omaha’s homeownership program. With the help of her counselors in the homeownership classes and her sweat equity hours she put into building her home she found confidence and that her investment in herself was a good bet.
