A good day’s work

Mohamed Sedky shows up every other day ready to assist customers at Omaha’s Habitat ReStore. You will most likely find him in the donation center where he enjoys thanking people who drop off items. Over the course of the day, Mohamed watches as shoppers come into the store and happily walk out with an item they need, excited to give it a new home.

“I live right up the street and like Habitat’s mission,” Mohamed said. “The staff here is so friendly, and there’s just good energy about this place. It’s very positive and uplifting.”

Mohamed is from Kansas City and moved to Omaha in 2013. While in Kansas City, he volunteered on two Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City build sites. He’s been volunteering with the Omaha Habitat ReStore for a year and a half and recommends visiting ReStore for any home improvement needs. He also recommends volunteering because “it’s really enriching, and you feel like you did a good day’s work.”
