Through Habitat Omaha’s Weatherization Program, qualified individuals receive home energy efficiency upgrades at no cost. The goal of weatherization is to reduce your home energy consumption and costs for both heating and cooling, and improve your family’s physical comfort, health and safety.
Types of Repairs
- Air sealing
- Appliance upgrades
- HVAC system upgrades
- Heating assistance
- Other energy efficiency repairs may qualify
Who is Eligible?
Households that have a combined gross income below 200% of the federal poverty level are eligible. Weatherization defines a “household” as all persons living under one roof. That includes family members living with you, roommates, adult children, people renting space, etc. People receiving Supplemental Security Income, aid to dependent children, or heating assistance are automatically eligible.
Habitat Omaha is the approved weatherization service provider for Douglas County. If you are not a resident of Douglas County, please visit the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy’s website to see other service providers.
