The First Homeowners in their Families

The First Homeowners in their Families

“We want to be the first homeowners in our family tree. We want a home where all of our family can come visit,” David and LaShae agree.

Born and raised in Omaha, both David and LaShae have strong support systems and lots of family members close by. Family game night, Sunday night dinner and a big family Thanksgiving are just a few of their traditions.

Having no other homeowners in their family, David and LaShae had thought about buying a house, but it seemed overwhelming. By partnering with Habitat Omaha, they feel as though they have mentors to guide them through the process and ensure they are going in the right direction and are well educated before signing their mortgage documents.

In the span of a year, David and LaShae went from one child each to three together. Their blended family brings good things from both sides and makes it better. They are really looking forward to owning their own house so they can, once and for all, figure out who is the messiest child! Right now, “nobody made the mess”, but it will be easy to see who it really is when the children have their own rooms!
