Connie Ryan – Power Woman of the Year

Connie Ryan served as a Habitat Omaha Board Member from 2015 to 2020 and on the Habitat Omaha Advisory Council from 2021 to 2022. In 2023, with Sue Thaden, Connie co-founded the Women Build: Belvedere-Miller Park Project to raise funds for the acquisition of homes, critical home repair and neighborhood clean-up in the Belvedere Point, Miller Park and Minne Lusa neighborhoods. 

Connie earned a medical technology degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and joined the family business, Streck, Inc., in 1982. She became president in 1992 and CEO in 2013. Since then, the company has experienced consistent, steady growth through acquisitions and the introduction of 45 new products. Revenue for fiscal 2023 was over $225 million. Streck was recently sold to Madison Industries under Connie’s guidance. 

She serves on the Luminarium Board, Omaha Symphony Board, iEXCEL Advisory Board, and the Quality Committee at UNMC. She is a member of YPO Gold and the Chief Executives Organization.

Sue Thaden – Honorary Chair

Sue Thaden joined the Habitat Board of Directors in 2023 and serves as its secretary on the Executive Committee. With Connie Ryan, in 2023, Sue co-founded the Women Build: Belvedere-Miller Park Project to raise funds for the acquisition of homes, critical home repair and neighborhood clean-up in the Belvedere Point, Miller Park and Minne Lusa neighborhoods. 

Sue earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Today, she is the CEO of Client Resources, Inc. (CRi), the leading partner for IT talent and solutions in the Midwest region, and From Now On, a mobile athletics engagement solution company serving over 150 colleges, high schools and events including six NCAA Championships. 

A dedicated community leader for organizations at the intersection of IT, community and workforce development, Sue serves as a board member for the University of Nebraska Foundation and Streck, Inc. She chairs the DC-based Government Affairs Committee for TechServe Alliance, is a member of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce’s Public Policy Council, the Dean’s Advisory Board for Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), and the Women in IT Fund Task Force for UNO.
