Deer Park holds special meaning for Habitat Omaha as our first neighborhood revitalization partner. Since 2011, we’ve worked together with the neighborhood to demolish condemned houses; build, renovate and sell Habitat Omaha homes to first-time homeowners; and make repairs to owner-occupied homes.

Mike Mendlick remembers watching as local builders constructed homes in just five days during Habitat for Humanity of Omaha’s 2009 Home Builders Blitz. After seeing everyone come together to complete the houses, Mike was inspired to pick up a hammer himself.
