Habitat for Humanity of Omaha has numerous financial, corporate, and foundation partners who, through their generosity, help make homeownership affordable for hard-working families.
The partners included the U.S. Bank Foundation, which created the U.S. Bank Foundation Opportunity Fund in 2023 to support organizations working to increase wealth-building opportunities for underserved communities.
The U.S. Bank Foundation recently distributed a total of $15 million in Opportunity Fund grants to nonprofits, including to Habitat for Humanity of Omaha.
Habitat Omaha is putting U.S. Bank Foundation Opportunity Fund grant to work by providing below-market-rate mortgage loans to local homebuyers, increasing their access to homeownership. This grant helps Habitat Omaha expand on its long history of mortgage lending to meet the current demand. Gifts like this help families like John and his daughter, Lucy achieve their dream of homeownership. It also broadens Habitat Omaha’s ability to impact the lives of other families by increasing access to affordable mortgage capital. This is a win for Habitat Omaha, and the Omaha community.
“Safe and stable housing helps children, families and communities thrive. Supporting organizations like Habitat for Humanity of Omaha to help create pathways to homeownership for more people is an investment that will benefit generations to come,” said Terry Dickey, Vice President, Community Affairs Manager at U.S. Bank.
Habitat Omaha’s work is only possible when we come together to invest in our community, and we remain grateful for our partners’ commitment to affordable homeownership. Other partners include First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO), the Robert B. Daugherty Foundation, Sunderland Foundation and more. To find out more ways you can help, visit Habitat Omaha Partners.
