Diane Duren has been a cornerstone of long-term viability and mission advancement within Habitat for Humanity of Omaha. Her family’s leadership in the origins of our Traditional Endowment Fund, and, more recently, our new Habitat Mortgage Fund, her strategic advisory to our CEO Amanda Brewer, and unwavering support of annual events and women in the industry have helped shape a legacy. Duren’s mentorship and informal counsel have been both grounding and visionary, guiding our organization through growth and change. She previously served as Brew Haha chair in 2008 and was honored at the Women’s Power Luncheon in 2014 — milestones that underscore her enduring dedication to our mission and community.
Duren retired from Union Pacific Corporation in 2017, where she served as executive vice president, chief administrative officer, and corporate secretary, following more than three decades in senior leadership roles across finance and marketing. She began her career as a certified public accountant with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in Omaha.
A graduate of Creighton University, Duren received the College of Business Alumni Merit Award in 2011 and currently serves as chair of the Creighton University Board of Trustees. Her civic leadership includes serving as chair of the American Red Cross Heartland Chapter, the Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority, and the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center. She is a trustee of the Peter Kiewit Foundation, a director of the Omaha Community Foundation, and currently serves on the board of Werner Enterprises.
Duren and her husband, Drew Collier, reside in Omaha.
