
Born and raised in North Omaha, Racquel Henderson is a fearless leader, activist, and community advocate dedicated to education, employment, equity, and second chances. She has used her role as an influencer to bring awareness to Habitat for Humanity of Omaha programs, including Home Journey and Transfer on Death Deed events.
Henderson serves as the community liaison for North Omaha for Mayor John Ewing’s Office, connecting residents with City Hall to ensure community voices influence policy and access to resources. She consults with EPIC for Girls, Nebraska Medicine, and the Empowerment Network, where she leads workforce, mentorship, and leadership initiatives, including the Skill UP! Program.
A professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Lincoln, Henderson challenges students to critically engage with race and justice, blending lived experience with academic rigor. She also serves on the board of I Be Black Girl and Identity Preparatory Academy. A sought-after speaker and award-winning leader, Henderson is driven by resilience, accountability, and deep belief in what is possible — and is most proud of being a mother of two dedicated to creating opportunity for the next generation.
