“When we left the White House, we could have done anything. But our choice was to volunteer as Habitat workers, and that’s been a life-changing experience for us.” — Former President Jimmy Carter
Habitat for Humanity of Omaha CEO Amanda Brewer and longtime volunteer Mary Lopez were guests on “Consider This,” a weekly half-hour program produced by UNO Television. The show, which covers current topics that face today’s society, airs on Nebraska Public Media and The Knowledge Network.
Brewer and Lopez spoke about the legacy of former President Jimmy Carter through Habitat for Humanity. Both shared their experiences meeting Carter and his wife, Rosalyn, while on Carter Work Project sites.
Other guests on the show included Preston Love Jr., CEO of Black Votes Matter, and Randy Adkins, professor of political science at UNO.
