ACCESSbank is celebrating 15 years in business by donating $15,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Omaha through its anniversary campaign. This gift will support Habitat Omaha’s efforts for affordable housing across the metro. ACCESSbank first opened its doors in 2007 with the goal of becoming Omaha’s community-focused bank. Now, on this milestone, they want to give back to a community that has helped their business thrive.
As the organization planned special events to celebrate its anniversary, it wanted to include something where everyone could get involved. When an individual opens a new TotalACCESS checking account, the bank will donate $100 to Habitat Omaha — up to $15,000. This campaign runs until Feb. 28.
Besides ACCESSbank’s donation, the bank and its customers will also leave a lasting physical presence in Habitat Omaha homes. At every branch, individuals who participate in the TotalACCESS checking account promotion can sign a wooden building stud. These seven pieces of wood will be used in future home builds this spring.
ACCESSbank has been an event sponsor of Habitat Omaha for more than 11 years. They know that, for 39 years, Habitat Omaha has been committed to helping people achieve strength and independence through homeownership. Affordable housing was a key issue they wanted to address in this campaign, and they knew Habitat Omaha would impact this area of need. “We felt like there was a lot of good that could be done with our donation to help build new housing for families in need,” said Katie Henry, senior vice president of ACCESSbank.
Anyone can support Habitat Omaha by opening a TotalACCESS checking account. This high-yield checking account has a $100 opening deposit and includes perks such as a premium interest rate on an everyday checking account. Whether opening the account online or in person, you can help Habitat Omaha build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter across the metro.
Overall, there has been a positive response in TotalACCESS checking account signups, and employees look forward to using their volunteer time off to help build quality, safe and healthy places to live for members of our community.
The partnership with Habitat Omaha gave ACCESSBank multiple ways to engage with customers, employees and the metro as a whole. “It’s not only a great way for us to reinvest in our community, but also for our employees and clients to get involved too,” Henry said.
ACCESSbank plans to make its contribution to Habitat Omaha in early spring, then continue to support Habitat Omaha by volunteering this year. Overall, they are grateful that they can celebrate their 15th anniversary by giving back. “We have so much to be thankful for and we attribute our success to our strong, vibrant community,” Henry said.
