Grace Mally and her dogs, Willow and Ivy.
We know Grace Mally as Habitat Omaha’s procurement specialist, but did you know she is an identical twin? Read on to learn more about Grace.
What’s your job title?
I’m currently a procurement specialist, but I actually started at Habitat as a construction intern!
Where are you originally from?
I was born and raised in South Omaha.
Where do you live now?
I currently live in North Omaha. You won’t catch me living out West!
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I’d say I’m a mix of both — an introvert or extrovert depending on the situation and who I’m around.
Who inspires you?
My mother and late father have always been my biggest inspirations. Their courage through adversity, deep love for family and friends, and the strong community they built around them continue to guide the person I strive to be.
What kind of music do you like?
I love blasting country music in my car! I also enjoy pop hits and the golden oldies—boomer radio always hits the spot.
What’s the best concert you’ve been to?
Chris Stapleton, hands down. His voice is absolutely unreal!
What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Wyoming is my go-to for getting away. Internationally, I fell in love with Montenegro—it’s a hidden gem.
What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
I’m more of a podcast person than a bookworm. Some of my favorites are Armchair Expert, New Heights, and Good Hang with Amy Poehler.
What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends?
Spending time outside—gardening, hiking, or just soaking in nature. The great outdoors is my happy place.
What’s your favorite food?
Tough to choose just one! I love a good home-cooked pasta with fresh garden veggies, and sunflower seeds are my go-to snack when I’m outside.
What’s your favorite movie?
Wedding Crashers is hilarious, such a classic.
Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
I’m an identical twin, and yes, we totally have twin telepathy sometimes.
Do you have any pets?
Yes! I’m a proud pet parent to a beautiful Calico cat named Biscuit and two cutie golden retrievers, Willow and Ivy.
Are you a coffee or tea person?
I drink both occasionally but would rather just drink water.
What show are you currently binge-watching?
I’m watching The Gilded Age and Welcome to Wrexham right now.
How would your friends describe you?
I texted my girl gang group chat for help on this one, and their response gave me a much needed dopamine boost:
“Grace is a light in every room — funny, caring, and compassionate, with the biggest heart. She’s fiercely loyal to the people she loves — being her friend means having someone in your corner for life. She values family and friendship deeply, always offering her time, energy, and talents at the drop of a hat. You can count on Grace to lift your spirits, share a laugh, and stand up for what she believes in. Hardworking and passionate, she pours her all into everything she does — whether it’s her job or being an incredible friend, daughter, or aunt. She brings joy, comfort, and a true sense of community to everyone lucky enough to know her.”
Which historical figure would you most like to meet?
Florence Nightingale. I’d love to hear about her experiences as a nurse during the Crimean War and how she shaped modern healthcare.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
As a loyal Alone fan, I’ve thought through this: I’d bring a fire starter, a knife, and fishing line.
Why do you like working at Habitat for Humanity of Omaha?
I love working at Habitat because everyone here is truly mission-driven. There’s a strong sense of teamwork, and we all collaborate to help provide quality homes for our family partners. The construction crew especially feels like an at-work family — we support each other without hesitation. It means so much to know that what I do every day makes a real difference in our community.
