What’s your job title?

My Job title is construction project designer.

Where are you originally from?

I am originally from Lincoln.

Where do you live now?

I currently live in Lincoln during the week with my family and Ankeny, Iowa, on the weekends with my husband, Jack.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

I like to say that I am an “introverted extrovert.”

Who inspires you?

My mom inspires me. She has always worked hard to take care of the Nelson family.

What kind of music do you like?

I listen to all different kids of music, usually it depends on my mood.

What’s the best concert you’ve been to?

I have been to a lot of concerts, but I think my favorite was in high school when I got to see Family Force 5 and Skillet. I did get to see Greta Van Fleet most recently and that would be a close second.

What’s your favorite vacation spot?

My favorite vacation spot is probably upper peninsula Michigan.

What’s the best book you’ve read recently?

I recently read Haunt Sweet Home by Sarah Pinsker. It was a short 165-page paranormal fiction that I found fairly interesting.

What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends?

On the weekends, I love to relax, but also love a good board game night with friends.

What’s your favorite food?

My go-to as a kid was stuffed peppers. I am not sure that I have a favorite food now as an adult, but I really enjoy anything my husband cooks as I am lucky to be married to someone who loves cooking and trying new foods!

What’s your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is hard to choose, it’s probably a tie between Transformers (the first one,) Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse, and She’s the Man.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

I am not sure that I have any hidden talents. I do really enjoy reading and playing video games in my free time!

Do you have any pets?

I have two cats, a tuxedo named Dallas and an orange tabby named Ranger.

Are you a coffee or tea person?

My go to is a medium or blonde roast coffee, but I do really love a good chai latte.

What show are you currently binge-watching?

I am currently binge-watching Hallmark’s The Way Home. There is just something about time travel and a feels good show about the importance of family that speaks to me.

How would your friends describe you?

I texted a couple friends and their responses were mostly the same. They described me as smart, caring, thoughtful, and a problem solver.

Which historical figure would you most like to meet?

A historical figure I would like to meet is Marie Curie.

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

The three items I would take with me to a deserted island (vacation to unplug) are a book, cooler with beverages and sunscreen.

Why do you like working at Habitat for Humanity of Omaha?

I like working at Habitat for Humanity of Omaha because it is very rewarding and I enjoy helping people. I get to draft the plans and then actually see the final product and the family who gets to call it home.
