Roy Wilson and his wife, Jeanne, were two people affected by the floods that occurred in March 2019 from rain combined with fast snow melt. The couple’s home in the Green Acres area of Bellevue was soaked, and the Wilsons lost 40 years’ worth of possessions.

Habitat Omaha celebrated our partnership with Tyson Foods, helping their team members obtain mortgage readiness through Habitat Omaha’s Workforce program. Through the Almost Home program, people that don’t qualify for homeownership are given guidance on how to navigate the steps to become qualified. We are excited to help more Tyson Foods team members next year – and in the years to come!

Habitat Omaha Interns Build It Forward for Their Career and Community

Each year, Habitat for Humanity of Omaha depends on paid interns to assist in its efforts to build and rehabilitate affordable housing for families in Douglas, Sarpy, Washington, Burt and Saunders counties in Nebraska.
This year’s crop of five construction interns and one family services intern represent five colleges and universities, including the University of Colorado, Creighton University, Kansas State University, Metropolitan Community College and the University of Nebraska Omaha. All of them share a quest for professional knowledge and to serve families through Habitat’s vision, A world where everyone has a quality, safe and healthy place to live.
