Omaha, NE - UNO students and other volunteers do some good Saturday. They're spending part of their fall break with Habitat for Humanity, helping four families get brand new homes.

It's hammer time! But we're not talking about the rap song. 100 volunteers pick up some big time tools to help put a row of houses together for four needy families. About 25 UNO students participated in the "Three Days of Service" program during their fall break. One student believes it's a good way to give back to the community. "I think this experience for me is very important. I do enjoy working with people," said UNO student, Zan Shao.

Other volunteers hope their work will change a family's life for the better. "I came to see this is a way to love people and that's what I think we're here for," said volunteer, John Fuller.

"It makes me feel real good to do this," said volunteer, Johnny MacGillivray.

As for Leroy Webster, this isn't the first time he's helped build houses for Habitat for Humanity. He tells Action 3 News it's a learning experience everyone can benefit from. "(It's good) to come here and help somebody. To see the security your giving these people," he said.

He hopes more people will follow suit. "Anybody want to come out here and do something? We provide hammers," he laughs.

Habitat for Humanity hopes to have the houses enclosed by Tuesday. All four will be finished this spring.
